Mohim breaks the stigma around menstrual health! Gone are the days of crushing candies, its time to catch those pads with undies
What is MoHiM?
MoHiM is a game that busts myths around menstrual health and hygiene. The word itself means “an effort” in the Urdu language and spells out MHM, the acronym for Menstrual Hygiene Management. The stigma around “that time of the month” is so severe that women and girls around the world, especially those living in marginalized communities, are unable to access the information that they need to manage their period in a healthy, hygienic and dignified manner.
There’s still so much misinformation surrounding menstruation that according to a UNICEF study 48 percent of girls in Iran think that it’s a disease!
MoHiM raises menstrual health awareness through a fun myth-busting game and brings the dialogue to the forefront; educating and creating champions who are eager to eradicate MHM shame!
And no, it’s not a girls’ game, after all there is a MEN in menstruation. So whether you are a girl in Nairobi or a boy in Washington DC, catch some pads, bust those myths and break the stigma around an issue that affects millions of lives around the globe!
Who made MoHiM?
The GRID team. We are a bunch of young(ish) game developers that have one thing in common, a desire to make social change fun. Our Founder, Mariam, is deeply passionate about women’s issues and having experienced the stigma around periods firsthand, she decided to do something about it, actually the one thing she knows how to do best... make a game on it.
